11 Must Attend Conferences in Q2’15

Tags

2015 has been off to a slow start for dealmaking, which means upcoming conferences are more important than ever for deal flow. If you are attending any of the below conferences, it is important to maximize value and effectiveness at events and to measure your ROI.

Look forward to seeing you at some of these events!

April 13-15 – ACG InterGrowth 2015, Orlando, FL

The Q2 conference circuit kicks off with one of the biggest conferences of the year: InterGrowth. The conference is happening at the Waldorf Astoria in sunny Orlando and is expected to draw nearly 2,000 deal professionals from across the country. Keynote speakers include Greg Norman, Greg Gumbel, and Salim Ismail. Keep an eye out for our upcoming InterGrowth Guide!

April 23 – Western Private Equity Conference, Los Angeles, CA

If you are focused on dealmaking on the west coast, look out for SBIA’s Western Private Equity Conference. In addition to networking opportunity, the conference includes a variety of sessions: The Emergence of the Independent Sponsor, Deal Sourcing Panel Discussion, Due Diligence on Smaller Funds…the LP Perspective, and more.

April 28 – Axial’s Dallas Summit 2015, Dallas, TX

In an effort to bring Axial events nationwide, we are hosting our next Summit in Dallas. At Axial monthly Summits, you will have the opportunity to connect with hundreds of business owners, advisors, and capital providers from across the country. Select Member firms are featured as event sponsors, sharing deals and industry expertise with event attendees.

May 4-9 – IBBA Spring Conference, Atlantic City, NJ

IBBA is having its Spring Conference in Atlantic City in early May. The event is known for good networking, educational panels, and “mastermind” sessions. Terry Watson will deliver the keynote session. After the work is done, you can hit a few of the casinos (those that are left, anyway).

May 11-14 – Global Private Equity Conference, Washington, D.C.

If you are looking for a conference with a more international focus, IFC’s Global Private Equity Conference should be on the list. The four-day event brings hundreds of deal professionals, LPs, and service providers to Washington D.C. and boasts an impressive list of speakers.

May 19-20, ACG Maryland Deal Forum Conference, Baltimore, MD

Make your way to Baltimore for ACG Maryland’s Deal Forum. Located at the Pier 5 Hotel, dealmakers should expect to find “Deals, Dialogue, and Connections” at the two-day event. Continue the networking at Camden Yards.

May 28-29 – Midwest Private Equity Conference, Chicago, IL

The SBIA is hosting another event, this time focused on the Midwest. The event, which occurs in late May, has a variety of educational panels and features a beer tasting networking reception.

June 2-3 – DealFest Northeast 2015, Boston, MA

DealFest returns on June 2nd to offer hundreds of deal professionals the opportunity to network and sample craft beers at the Cyclorama in Boston’s historic South End neighborhood. Attendees can also attend DealSource Select the following day.

June 3 – Axial’s Boston Summit 2015, Boston, MA

Our June Summit is on the heels of ACG’s DealFest, also occurring in Boston. If you’re in the area for DealFest, be sure to attend the Summit for additional networking and conversations with business owners, advisors, and capital providers from across the country.

June 4 – 10th Annual Signature Wine Tasting, Charlotte, NC

ACG Charlotte is hosting its 10th Annual Signature Wine Tasting on the evening of June 4th. Whether you are looking for new deals or sommelier experience, the event should be a worthwhile night. Don’t forget to talk about the tannins.

June 8-9 – 2015 Upper Midwest Capital Connection, Minneapolis, MN

Never been lawn bowling? Well here’s your chance. ACG Minnesota is offering a Capital Connection filled with golfing, networking, beer sampling, and lawn bowling. Not a bad way to source some new deals and new relationships.
