Description: Cascade Process Controls is a multi-disciplined contractor providing detailed engineering, design, automation, PLC/DCS programming, HDD fiber installations, and complete instrumentation and electrical services.
In December 2024, Mako Industries, a Texas-based industrial and infrastructure services company, acquired Cascade Process Controls (CPC), significantly strengthening Mako’s geographic footprint and service capabilities across the U.S. and Canada. CPC Controls brings deep technical expertise and a long-standing reputation in serving clients across the oil and gas, utilities, and renewable energy sectors. With a strong presence in Western Canada and an expanding U.S. operation, CPC complements Mako’s strategic growth initiatives in key regions, including North and South Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming. The deal enables Mako to scale its operations, diversify its customer base, and deepen its service offerings across high-demand industrial markets.
Sequeira Partners, a leading Canadian M&A advisory firm and Axial sell-side member since 2016, served as the exclusive financial advisor to CPC in the transaction. With extensive experience advising on cross-border transactions in the industrial and energy services sectors, Sequeira Partners provided strategic guidance throughout the acquisition process, helping Mako identify and secure a synergistic partner in CPC.
The acquisition positions Mako Industries as a major player in the North American industrial services market, enhancing both its technical capabilities and geographic reach. “Their service-focused company fits well with our existing operations,” said Mako’s CEO, “and the addition of HDD services enables us to expand underground and aerial high-speed fiber optic installations nationwide.” By integrating CPC’s experienced workforce and customer relationships, Mako is well-positioned to accelerate its growth trajectory in 2025 and beyond.
Reflecting on the process and their sourcing strategy, Mako’s CEO commented: “We’ve had an excellent experience using the Axial platform to find bolt-on opportunities for our business,” the CEO added. “Their sophisticated filtering engine enables me to search for fresh prospects in a highly focused manner.”
