Case Study: Rhino Ventures Acquires Trident Trailer

Tags

“We believe that the materials and aggregates sector is positioned for substantial growth over the next decade. We will continue to see massive capital inflows into U.S. infrastructure which includes public spending on essential structures such as roadways and schools and private spending on return-driven projects. We are excited about our deployment into this heavy equipment manufacturing business which is a profitable corner of this industry.

Rhino Ventures, LLC is based in Dallas, TX and Atlanta, GA and is looking for mid- to late-stage business opportunities in the infrastructure, specialty trades, asset-heavy construction and materials sectors.

Rhino Ventures partnered with Axial to create a buy side project focused on TX-based businesses across a variety of sectors. The Rhino team explored ~40 transactions, ultimately evaluating a heavy-equipment manufacturing business in 2024. This was the inaugural sell-side project created by Connor Mitchell of Axiom Acquisition, who had also joined Axial just a month earlier.

The business — which turned out to be Trident Trailer — was initially attractive to Rhino as it strongly correlated with the public infrastructure and materials sectors, which is posed for strong growth over the next decade. Rhino Ventures consummated the transaction in mid-2024.
