15 Conferences to Attend in Q2’14
Below is a list of 15 conferences in Q2’14 that target middle market deal professionals and facilitate deals around the United States.
As we have previously discussed, conferences can be an excellent way to boost business development and increase visibility on opportunities. If you are attending any of the below conferences, it is important to maximize value and effectiveness at events and to measure your ROI.
April 1 – Rocky Mountain Corporate Growth Conference, Denver, CO
The Q2’14 conference season begins on April 1 with ACG’s Rocky Mountain Corporate Growth Conference in Denver. The conference will feature panels on “Business Strategy and the Macro Environment,” “Globalization of Business,” “Transformational CEOs,” as well as a keynote presentation from General Stanley McChrystal and an afternoon Capital Connection.
April 2 – Selling Up, Selling Out, Chicago, IL
Hosted by Corum Mergers & Acquisitions, Selling Up, Selling Out focuses on how business owners should navigate the deal process, with particular attention to the tech industry. Agenda highlights include “The New World of Buyers” and “Due Diligence Landmines.”
April 7 – ACG Raleigh Durham Capital Conference, Durham, NC
If you can’t make it to Denver, ACG is hosting another conference in warmer North Carolina. In addition to Capital Connection, this ACG conference also hosts DealSource meetings, and a brand new seminar and reception on Financing Business Growth. The seminar will be open to mid-market companies, sponsors, and exhibiting funds and investment banks.
April 8 – ACG British Columbia Capital Connection, British Columbia
If you are looking for some international opportunities — or just some good maple syrup — ACG is also hosting a Capital Connection in British Columbia. The conference has panels on maximizing exit values, financing an MBO, add-on acquisitions, and more. Tori Holmes and Paul Gleeson, authors of Crossing the Swell, are the keynote speakers.
April 28 – 30 – Intergrowth 2014, Las Vegas, NV
ACG’s main conference is happening in sunny Las Vegas this year. If you can pull yourself away from the craps table, the conference will have several informative panels, a variety of networking opportunities, and keynote addresses from Biz Stone and Peyton Manning. April 30 – Debtwire Investors Summit, New York, NY
If you are looking for more distressed opportunities, this Debtwire-hosted conference is for you. The event will join industry experts to discuss “bankruptcy and restructuring trends as well as distressed debt investment strategies.” You can view the full agenda here.
May 12-15 – Global Private Equity Conference, Washington, DC
Over 875 representatives of the industry’s leading institutional investors and fund managers, including over 320 LPs, are expected to attend the 18th annual Global Private Equity Conference. The conference will center on the issue of emerging markets and private equity, and features addresses from David Wilton, Henny Sender, and General David Petraeus.
May 13 – Axial Spring Summit South, Dallas, TX
Join fellow Axial Members for an evening of facilitated business development and deal sourcing in Dallas, Texas. With specific industry verticals represented by Member investment bankers, connecting with relevant deal professionals and CEOs is easier than ever. The Spring Summit will focus primarily on the Oil & Gas, Consumer, Healthcare, Technology, and Business Services industries.
May 14-15 – Southwest M&A Conference, Scottsdale, AZ
If you feel like more southern networking, ACG is hosting its Southwest M&A Conference in Scottsdale on May 14th and 15th. After the optional round of golf, Doug Holtz-Eakin, former Director of the Congressional Budget Office and economic and fiscal policy expert, will deliver the keynote address.
May 15 – 10th Annual M&A DealSource, New York, NY
For the 10th year in a row, ACG NY is hosting its DealSource conference. The event is expected to attract over 400 middle market dealmakers and will host breakout panels in addition to an open networking beer tasting. If you are tweeting about the event, use the hashtag #DealSource2014.
June 2-4 – M&A Source Spring Conference, Las Vegas, NV
Many dealmakers will return to Las Vegas for M&A Source’s multi-day conference and dealmakers expo. The event will feature both networking opportunities and educational panels, including “How to Spot the Deal Worth Pursuing” and “New and Improved Marketing Techniques for Your M&A Practice.”
June 2-7 – IBBA Spring Conference, Las Vegas, NV
Occurring on the heels of M&A Source’s conference, IBBA is holding its Spring Conference just across the street at the Cosmopolitan. In addition to a variety or panels, the conference will also debut IBBA’s new Mastermind Sessions on building a better pipeline.
June 11-12 – IBA 13th International M&A Conference, New York, NY
This legal-focused conference highlights some of the recent developments and trends in international M&A law. As new laws and regulations are being rolled out for M&A professionals, this conference could be a great way to stay informed of the most critical changes.
June 18-19 – ACG DealFest Northeast, Boston, MA
ACG Boston is breaking the tradition and saying goodbye to the traditional Capital Connection. Instead, they are creating DealFest, an event “where private equity firms and investment banks join forces with ACG Boston to throw the biggest M&A block party in the Northeast.”
June 19-20 – 2014 Mid-South ACG Capital Connection, Nashville, TN
Travel to America’s heartland for ACG’s Mid-South Capital Connection in Nashville. If the Capital Connection and breakout sessions aren’t enough to draw your attendance, you should at least go for the welcome reception held in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
